Adventure rider Trinity Ride
So, I decided to go for a ride since the dog won a vacation at a boarding kennel by getting knee surgery and the fish looked like they could survive without a few meals.
went to a sporting goods shop for some camping gear, fed the fishes, went to sleep.
then about
I got out
of bed. a little shower, packing, breakfast and i was ready to rollout.
A nifty little present from the best grampa in the world. Mostly just
played with it this trip, but will come in handy once i learn to work it.
Had to meet up with a fellow concours rider/ adventure rider from Seguin. he had gotten a head start the day before and had made it to Sonora, Tx. a couple hundred miles out.
It looked like this out there.

for once the highway signs were dead on. when it said deer, i saw deer. when it said severe crosswinds, i had severe crosswinds. I left new braunfels at 62 degrees and it just kept gettin colder. i put all my layers on but still was very happy to find wicked hot coffee at my first gas stop. forget where that was, but across the street was a mobile mansion that had seen better days..
I rolled into Sonora about an hour and a half early and woke up Andy T. He got cleaned up, packed, and we were rollin by 8:30 or so.
a fine pair of haulers. still pretty clean at this point.

we shot all the way up I-10 to Ft.Stockton and jumped onto the 285.

285 is a nicer road than I-10 but lacks curves and elevation changes until you get to New Mexico. The bluebonnets haven't shown up here yet, so some scrubby light green white flowered plant rules the ditches. shoulda taken a closeup pic of one.
285
We got to the welcome to New Mexico sign and shot right past that sucker.
here's the back of it and the welcome to Texas sign.
