Page 2 GS hill country run

If i show Hap's GS too much love it's because
i used to have one, and kick myself for selling it. I sat next to the
fella on the left [and his wife] during dinner last night. He owns the
bike on the right- a very clean gs1000L with.....
An outstanding backrest/luggage rack. fine piece of hardware.
After everybody ate, gassed up, and one of the fine tinkerers sorted out a starter switch problem, we were on the road. RR470 was its wonderful self. Some foot pegs were scraped, some butt cheeks were clenched, but everybody had a good time and made it to the next destination.
which was:

The Lone Star Motorcycle Museum.
lets try a little more detail:

Took a bunch of pics inside but they really didn't turn out. each bike is a work of art that should be shot against a plain background so it can be appreciated. Bought a t-shirt but not the lifetime membership. [many did]
Then came the time to go outside.. it was about 11:35-11:40. So we stood and shot the bull and we stood and shot the bull some more. 11:55 i couldnt take it anymore. Here we were right next to 337 a wicked good road and they chose to burn daylight with this bull shooting and standing. The writing was on the wall. these people have a hard time pullin up the anchor. I figured they were all hungry and the next stop was lunch which would take a hour to eat plus a half hour of parking lot standing and bullshooting. not to mention 15 minutes for gassing up.
I had to be home to walk the dog by 5! i can always eat more when i get home but I can't ride these roads when I get home. So I blasted. i shoulda said something but the road was calling. it took me 1 hour and 45 minutes to shoot 337 to 55 and back to Vanderpool with side road trips, photo ops, and 10 minutes of cookie and Dr.pepper time in camp wood. As I pulled back into Vanderpool, theGSResources people were just starting what I'd finished. So maybe my lunch analysis wasn't too far off.
I'll save my solo story for pages 3 and 4. gotta go feed the fish.
