Yet Another Run to the hill country

So I just had a great run to Big Bend when somebody mentions a group of Suzukis are coming to town to grab some chow and then do the hill country.
Sounds like a good deal, after all, i once was a Suzuki keeper.
First thing I needed to do to was: drain the battery in my camera so i could recharge and have plenty of juice for all day shooting.
so i shot this one of the lunar eclipse. [thursday night?]

was having a hard time holding it steady for 5 seconds. would have turned out better with the tripod.
had to take 80 more pics of the corner of the computer room just to kill the battery. darn battery low indicator on a canon camera doesnt mean squat.
enough small talk lets see some bikes.

This GS caught my eye the moment it pulled in. and several times more the next day. very nice. belonged to the skinny feller who was with the florida cbrxx blackbird feller. I didn't remember a single name all weekend. sorry.
this one was in great shape too.
we arrived at the Gristmill 6:30ish with a half hour time to kill 'til some tables opened up. hung out on the tree covered grounds sippin a beverage as stragglers straggled in. 7 rolled around and the waitress lead us out round the building, cross the parking lot behind the dumpster into the deep woods. some thought we might be just getting mugged and tossed in the river. But, we ended up in a nice picnic table area behind the main building somewhere close to the river.
food was good- service good. Bus boys and others we're particularly attentive to gs-1000 dude's daughter. [pretty sure she can do better than a busboy]. I woofed down a turkey sandwhich while conversing with the group on my left and the group on my right.
the group in front of me must have figured out i was the guy on the kawi and gave me the cold shoulder..

just kidding.
everybody split 'bout 9something? after deciding to meet up in bandera at 7 something the next morn.
i woke up about 6:45. 66 miles from bandera. wasn't going to make it by 7. or 7:30. I hoped they got a slow waitress and would still be there by 8.
I got to bandera about 8 and was one of the first ones there. The ride out had one deer and one sheriff. the sheriff was sitting in the ditch drinking coffee and didn't cause any trouble. The deer was running down my lane for about 20 feet as i yanked it down from 70 to 30. We didnt get too close.
the cold shoulder continued at breakfast. [except for the 2 guys at the far end who must have not gotten the memo.]

I had a mcmuffin. waitress was cute. Talked to the fella with the gs1100gk and the fella who did Big Bend on a gold wing the week before i did. The guy on the left [above] did the Big Bend thing too. gs1100L i think.
TheGsResources takes over Bandera. And nobody messed with us cause we brought our lawyer. [he rode the red fatboy on the right]

the mighty fatboy, kz and gs gassing up. like its 1982 only the pickup trucks look different and the gas is a dollar more a gallon.
